Our community of faith that gathers as the Alpine Church of Christ is seeking God. We long to Know God. We strive to love Him with all our Hearts, Soul, Mind, and Strength. We want to Know Him intimately. We want to know Him through the way we love Him, our friends, and our enemies; through the deep passions of our soul which He placed in that sacred place in our being and stirrs according to His purposes; through every thought that is entertained, worked through, or disproved in our head, through every idea, inclination, and solution that comes to our God-wired brain; through every effort that our temporary bodies make with the strength that God alone can provide, through every good deed that God has prepared in advance to do… we want to LOVE, KNOW, and EXPERIENCE the presence, providence, and power of the Almighty God who loves us so much He calls us His children.

I spoke to a young man today. He is young. He knows only a fraction of information on any subject that I know about. He knows some of the Bible. Yet, compared to people who have walked with God for over half their life… he knows little and has experienced little. As we talked, God opened my eyes (once again), and showed me how much I have to learn. God wasn’t comparing knowledge, right answers, or comparing “spiritual feats”. God was showing me how beautiful He is, how faithful He is, how peaceful He is, how patient He is. He was showing all of this through hearing the story of a fellow Christ follower on the Journey.
We can all learn from each other. We can see a clearer picture of the Almighty when we open our hearts and ears to hear how He is at work with and for those that are around us.

We want you to feel free to say whatever you want, as long as it is not a personal attack on someone, or criticism about Alpine or another comment left. There are other avenues to do those things through. What is God doing in your life? How is the topic discussed true in your life? Where are you seeing God at work?
CAN I WRITE SOMETHING LONG OR SHORT? Whatever God is laying on your heart to share… share it.

I believe seeking God is like what I witnessed this morning with our blind miniature dachsund. She’s 4 years old and has no fear. She tries new things all the time. She bumps around sometimes, runs into things, and even gets lost… but, she never stops seeking for us. What made me think of this particular analogy is, this morning she decided to jump off the back of the couch and go airbourn. Something new!haha She was listening to Casie’s voice and got to the edge, paused, then leaped towards her. The funny thing was…she missed Casie, landed on the back of our large chow/german shepard dog, and slid down his back to safety. She follows hard after us. She can’t see a single thing. She has no insides to her eyes. But, she finds us every time. And, of course we love to give her Nilla waffers just because she is so cute.
God loves to give us spiritual gifts just because He thinks we’re cute, too. When we seek Him and “jump off the edge in faith”… he’s already either made a place for us to land or caught us in his hand of safety. There is NO doubt when you seek Him, you WILL find Him. Go ahead…jump off the back of the couch and go airbourn!
I am in sales, and have had several discouraging weeks in a row. I would pray, but still my results were dismal. Thru this study, I realized a new way of looking at God and changed my prayer life. I used to pray “God, here’s what I need for you to do today”. I’d give him my laundry list of what I wanted, and ask that he bless me.
I realized how selfish my prayers had become, and changed them to “God, please reveal your will to me, and draw me to it. Whatever is your will for me, please help me to find it and do it.” I asked for God’s will, and not mine. It is apparent that when I sought God’s will instead of mine, that God put me together with those people who needed my services. In 6 days, 6 new accounts. Also, one client prayed that God would send him a Christian businessperson that he could trust and do business with. We met, and shared the Lord, and consequently he will become my customer tomorrow. As I prayed for God’s will this morning when beginning my workday, the phone rang about 30 seconds after I said “Amen”. It was an account that I had been pursuing since November and had given up as not attainable. They were ready to sign today, and they did!
Coincidence? I don’t think so! I submitted my will to God’s will, and he chose to bless me beyond my expectations. What will happen next? Let’s see!
